How are the bags
Filled ?
The dunnage bags are filled with compressed air, and an air-tool.
Compressed air is obtained either from the truck's own air system,
or a small portable compressor.
Are the bags
Re-Usable ?
Yes. Each bag can be quickly deflated from the valve and re-used.
Since our bags our made of woven PP, they are very durable against
abrasion, rough handling and rain. As long as they are not
punctured, Tthe number of re-uses can vary.
How and where are
dunnage bags placed ?
They are placed in voids between the goods which are on pallets, as
well as between the goods and the ceiling/wall depending on the
pallet sizes, weights, mode of transport, and shape of
products.
Which Size should we
use ?
Once again this will depend on a variety of factors such as pallet
sizes, weights, and mode of transport. We can assist you to choose
the correct size bag for the right application.
Which Type of bag is
recommended for Container transport ?
Depending on weights of cargo either a Stage 1, Stage 2, or Stage
3.
Which Type of bag is
recommended for Truck transport ?
Predominantly Level 1.
Which Type of bag is
recommended for Rail transport ?
Predominantly Level 2-3 and above.
What are the maximum
voids recommended for dunnage bags ?
For a bag of width 60 cm (24") : 20 cm (8")
For a bag of width 90 cm (36") : 30 cm (12")
For a bag of width 120 cm (48") : 40 cm (15")
For a bag of width 150 cm (60") : 50 cm (20")
What equipment is
required to inflate & deflate the bag ?
Compressed air from a compressor, Inflator tool, and an air gauge
to fill the bag. Simply to unscrew the valve to empty/deflate the
bag.
What are the maximum
air pressures allowed ?
For Level 1 Bags : 2-3 psi
For Level 2 Bags : 3-4 psi
For Level 3 &4 Bags : 6-8 psi
For Level 5 Bags : 10 psi
